The Future Communications Laboratory (http://fly.dieti.unina.it) at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (DIETI) of the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, is looking for self-motivated full-time Ph.D. students. The positions are fully funded (stipend & tuition for three years) and the starting date is expected to be Fall 2014, once the suitable candidates pass the open competition announced by the University. The selected candidates will perform cutting-edge research in the area of wireless communications. The research focus will be 5G, NanoNetworks and BioNetwoks. An ideal candidate will have enthusiasm and passion for performing quality research as well as patience to tackle academically challenging problems. The candidates should meet the following criteria: - Holding or expecting an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Math. - Strong background in mathematics and analytical thinking. - Excellent written and communication skills in English. - Background in wireless communications, computer networks or signal processing is desirable, but interested candidates from other areas are also welcome. - Ability to pursue independent research. - Ability to work in an inter-disciplinary team.
