Scientist Postdoc (m/f)
Code-no. 2013/B 22
in Organic/Macromolecular Chemistry, focussing on design, synthesis and analysis of depsipeptide-based biomaterials. This is initially a 2-years fixed-term contract.
You will synthesize morphonlinediones, functionalized polydepsipeptides with different architectures and specific sequence structures, and analyze their interaction with drugs. You will be responsible for the benchwork of your own projects and will furthermore provide contributions in guiding PhD/master students. Additionally, you will actively participate in the publication of the results, preparation of patents, and attracting additional funding.
Excellent knowledge in polymer synthesis and characterization as well as bioorganic chemistry are essential. This is documented by your educational training and PhD in a relevant field as well as a significant number of publications. Ideally, you would furthermore have additional practical experience in peptidomimetics, drug design techniques, and quantification of drug-receptor interaction e.g. with NMR or surface plasmon resonance. You will work in an interdisciplinary team with pharmaceutical scientists, chemists, material engineers, biologists, immunologists, and scientists of other disciplines in the field of regenerative medicine. You are speaking English fluently and can provide documentation of your completed PhD studies and possibly subsequent project work.

PhD student (m/f)

in Material and Pharmaceutical Sciences, focussing on nanoparticulate polymer matrices as drug carriers for skin applications. This position is planned for 3-years and will be initially a 1-years fixed term contract with subsequent evaluation.
You will be responsible for the preparation, synthesis, and characterization of polymeric nanoparticles as well as drug loading and release studies. You will study particle size and morphology, the degradation behaviour of the particles, and will be closely cooperating with partners in the CRC for the biological evaluation in view of drug delivery to the skin. You will be responsible for the benchwork of your own projects and will furthermore actively participate in the publication of the results and preparation of patent applications.
You have a background in pharmaceutical technolog, chemistry, or biomaterials as documented by your educational training (e.g. M.Sc., diploma) in polymer chemistry, material science, or pharmaceutical science, ideally with practical experience in polymeric nanoparticles. You will work in an interdisciplinary team with pharmaceutical scientists, chemists, material engineers, biologists, physicians, and scientists of other disciplines in the field of regenerative medicine. You are speaking English fluently and can provide documentation of your completed studies and possibly additional or international project work.
