[beasiswa] [BUTUH INFO] ielts vs kursus bahasa & Portfolio S2 art and design

Salam kenal.. Nama saya Nana. Ini postingan pertama saya di milis :D
Sbelumnya maaf kalau mungkin topik ini sudah pernah dibahas (khususnya ttg ielts)
Saya sudah membaca ringkasan milis ini, di link

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beasiswa/files/%21summary.txt

Terimakasih banyak..

[beasiswa] (info) PhD position di AISSR, deadline 22 October 2010

Subject: PhD position di AISSR, deadline 22 October 2010
Date: Wed, 29 Sep 2010 19:46:07 +0700

PhD candidate

1.0 FTE (38hrs/week)
vacancy number 10-2084

'Comparative labour relations, internationalisation and inequality'
The area is directed by Prof. Jelle Visser (AISSR and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies (AIAS)), in cooperation with Prof. Herman van de Werfhorst (AISSR and the Amsterdam Centre for Inequality Studies (AMCIS)).
This is an 'open' advertisement, meaning that applications are invited on the basis of the candidates' own research proposals. Only proposals that fall within the themes of the group's research programme will be considered. Please consult the programme description by following the link 'Institutions, Inequalities and Internationalisation' below.
Within the area of 'Comparative labour relations, internationalisation and inequality' comparison of labour relations (unions, collective bargaining, industrial conflict, minimum wage setting, labour standards) is the main focus of research. Three themes are of particular interest on the present research agenda, but this list is not exhaustive.
1. The explanation of the stagnation of real wages and the rise in inequality in many countries in relation to union power and changes in collective bargaining and minimum wage setting. This can be studied cross-sectionally and chronologically, at the aggregate level (entire economies, for particular sectors, and at the level of firms), for instance with the help of the European company survey.
2. The role and diffusion of labour standards in developing economies in relation to economic and social development, competitive advantage and narrowing income differences between poor and rich countries.
3. Regional integration (in different areas of the world) and the development of social policies and transnational labour relations.
The research makes use of various quantitative databases, such as the Database on Institutional Characteristics of Trade Unions, Wage Setting, State Intervention and Social Pacts in 34 countries between1960 and 2009 (ICTWSS), which can be accessed at the AIAS website, databases at ILO, OECD, the Worldbank, Eurostat and the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions.
Within these loosely defined research themes, a specific PhD project will be defined in cooperation between the PhD researcher and the supervisor, matching the interests and skills of the researcher. Applicants are invited to write a three-page research proposal which, if selected, can be the basis of the research for the PhD thesis.

Tasks

  • Conducting research, writing a dissertation and other publications
  • Teaching in the field of social sciences for at least 10% of the time
  • Participating in the AISSR PhD programme, including following courses
  • Participating in conferences and seminars

Further information

Further enquiries can be obtained from Prof. Jelle Visser (jelle.visser@uva.nl).

Appointment

The gross monthtly salary will be € 2042 in the first year and € 2612 in the fourth year in case of a full-time position (38 hrs / week). Secondary working conditions at Dutch universities are attractive and include 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end of year bonus.

Job application

The starting date for the project should be between 1 November 2010 and 1 February 2011.
Application requirements: a letter explaining interest and commitment, a three-page research proposal (including operationalized resarch questions, theoretical framework, research method, and considerations on selection of the empirical object), a complete CV, two letters of recommendation, a list with subjects taken and obtained grades during university education.
Applicants should send their full application before 22 October 2010, by email to: application-soca-fmg@uva.nl
Emailed applications should bear the vacancy number in the subject line and the other documents as attachments.

[beasiswa] [info] PhD position in Operational Research - VUB Brussels

PhD position in Operational Research

Topic: Personnel Rostering and Manpower Planning

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel in cooperation with KaHo Sint-Lieven and HUBrussel conducts research on Personnel Rostering and Manpower Planning for which a four year PhD position is vacant.

The candidate should have a master degree and possess good mathematical skills. Experience with programming is desirable.

Project description

State of the art approaches on quantitative personnel planning are restricted to either manpower planning or personnel rostering, addressing long term and short term objectives respectively. Some approaches combine aspects of both domains by tackling manpower planning and personnel rostering in a sequential way, resulting in suboptimal solutions at (the) different decision levels. The decisions taken at the level of manpower planning, restrict the possibilities at the rostering level. Consequently, addressing poor quality rosters at a departmental level is very hard.

The project aims at closing the gap by integrating complementary aspects of personnel planning into one single decision model. Research goals include:

integrating the objectives of the different decision levels, namely the aggregated organisational level and the level of the local departments, taking into account the corresponding time horizons of both.

introducing a quality vector capable of considering both manpower planning and rostering aspects.

developing an algorithm for generating high quality personnel strategies.

An optimal strategy results in a personnel structure that allows for good quality rosters in each department while at the same time, being desirable with respect to manpower planning.

[beasiswa] [info] Ph.D. position in hydrology

Ph.D. position in hydrology Subject : "Application of functional connectivity indicators for improving subgrid surface flow hydrogram estimation in distributed hydrological modelling" The Agricultural Engineering research group of the Earth and Life Institute is offering a PhD fellowship for a period of up to 4 years to work on the refinement of surface flow modelling at the subgrid scale of distributed hydrological models. Research project summary Subgrid modelling of surface hydrological flow in physically-based, spatially-distributed models is currently based on the use of effective parameters which cannot properly capture the subgrid connectivity of surface runoff. A promising connectivity function – the Relative Surface Contribution function (RSC) (Antoine et al., 2009) - has been recently developed and tested at the 1 m² scale, which improves the modelling of subgrid runoff generation. This project seeks to pursue the integration of the subgrid connectivity function in spatially-distributed hydrological models and to test the scale-dependency of the RSC function and its time-rate of change for contrasted initial conditions. This will involve a combination of field/lab and numerical experiments. The Institution The candidate will be hosted in the Agricultural Engineering research group of the Earth an Life Institute (ELI) of the Université catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. The Environmental sciences section of ELI offers a dynamic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary research environment dealing with various topics related to agriculture and the environment. The research activities of the Agricultural Engineering research group focus on water resources, soil-plant interactions and soil conservation. Additional information concerning the Environmental sciences section of the Earth and Life institute can be found at http://www.uclouvain.be/ , and regarding UCL at http://www.uclouvain.be/ . Collaboration with research groups in The Netherlands and France is expected. Applications The successful candidate should be a national from a European country and hold a M.Sc. degree in hydrology, earth or environmental sciences (or related disciplines). Experience with modelling and a good mathematical background will be an advantage. The candidate will be attributed a renewable fellowship (€2,300 – 2,570 per month depending on prior degree) for an initial duration of 15 months. In addition, he/she will benefit from social security coverage. Candidates should send by October 15, 2010 – preferably by email - a letter of intent, the name and address of 2 referees, a curriculum vitae and a copy of the grades obtained for the masters degree to: Profs.
