That MIT is expensive is a myth. MIT gives a lot of full scholarships to undergraduates. If you are interested in studying in a top school such as MIT or Harvard or Yale you should apply first regardless of whether you can afford it or not.
If you are accepted, MIT will work with you to figure out a way that you can attend, even if you can't afford it.
Top schools like MIT are looking for the very best talent from around the world, and they have a large endowment that they can afford to give scholarships to almost all students, with the exception of MBA students.
