Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for a full-time scholarship available in the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences. The scholarship is tenable for up to 3 years for a PhD (via MPhil route) [subject to satisfactory progress] and is open to international applicants only. UK/EU applicants are not eligible to apply. The scholarship will provide £15000 towards the cost of the International tuition fee over 3 years. This is an opportunity to complete a PhD with the Child Computer Interaction Group (ChiCI group) at the University of Central Lancashire. Child Computer Interaction is a field within Human Computer Interaction (HCI), and the ChiCI Group at UCLan is an international leader in the design and evaluation of children's technology.
This is a full time PhD opportunity working within a dynamic and innovative research group. This project aims to investigate whether older children can evaluate educational technology designed for younger children if given appropriate tools. This is broken down into 3 research questions:
-To what extent can older children evaluate educational technology for younger children?
-What methods are suitable to use?
- What constructs can be evaluated by children?
