Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Biological Chemistry at John Innes Centre UK
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Biological Chemistry Department to study how the GlgE pathway generates a branched glucan and how the pathway is regulated. We recently discovered GlgE to be a widespread maltosyl transferase and a potential new target against tuberculosis. The post holder will work independently and show initiative within a multidisciplinary project and collaborate with internal and external groups.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a biochemical subject or will have equivalent experience. Publications in international peer-reviewed journals are essential. The job-holder must also have experience in enzymology together with good interpersonal and computer skills. Relevant experience of recombinant protein expression/mutagenesis, carbohydrate active enzymes, kinetics, enzyme regulation, oligo/polysaccharide analyses and protein crystallography are highly desirable.
We Offer:
Salary on appointment will be within the range £26,610 to £29,566 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a limited term post for a contract of 36 months.
